The next flagship phone of Samsung is speculated to offer another first in the smartphone arena, a fully flexible and foldable 4K display. The Galaxy S8 could be launched during MWC in Barcelona, which is speculated to happen in late February or early March.

Many high-end devices are already using a Quad HD resolution that offers 2560 x 1440 pixels. Many phone manufacturers are also incorporating AMOLED screen technology because of its rich and vibrant display. Now, Samsung is rumored to be putting its new Bio Blue 4K display into use with its still-unannounced Galaxy S8. Android Headlines reported.

The display technology will allegedly offer 3840 x 2160 screen resolution with around 806 ppi pixel density. The Galaxy S7 is currently offering 2560 x 1440 resolution and around 534 ppi pixel density, so this is a big leap in the display aspect of smartphones. It is also rumored to be flexible, which means, that users will soon have a smartphone that can be unfolded and be converted into a tablet-size phone. This feature will increase the viewing pleasure into a new height.

The Galaxy S8 is also speculated to continue having a curved edge display design, aside from the metal and glass combination, hinted by the company's chief of mobile division Koh Dong-jin during the Galaxy Note 7's launching in New York early this month. Koh said, "Samsung has considered that it would make the edge display as the identity of the Galaxy S smartphone lineup if the company can provide consumers differentiated user experience through software and user-friendly functions (for the curved screen)," according to Know Your Mobile.

Several reports also suggest that the upcoming smartphone will have something for the VR crowd. The company has been rumored to be performing research and development for this "Project Daydream" for a time now, and is speculated that has something to do with the internal system of a phone, and very minimal or nothing at all from its external design. However, very little detail is available just yet.

Other rumored specification for the Samsung Galaxy S8 includes Snapdragon 830, 821 or 820 processors. It could also arrive with a tweaked version of the current Exynos 8890. It could also be offered with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32, 64 and 128 GB.
