While the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are already out in the market today, there is already some buzz regarding the phone that will succeed the S8. The next phone, temporarily named the S9, may not be out until next year, but there is already some information going around the internet.

Much like the S9's predecessors, the rumors are aplenty regarding the specifications and features of the smartphone. From what is being speculated so far, the S9 might just become a rival to Apple's iPhone X, all the while fixing the issues that were found in the S8.

Slashleaks revealed some CAD photos of what they claim to be the Galaxy S9 a few days ago. However, whether these are confirmed or not is another story. The supposed 3D image of the phone features a design similar to the S8, with the curved edges on both the front and back.

Of course, like many of its phones, Samsung is very likely going to include a dual camera setup in order to compete with the iPhone X and other smartphones that also have this feature. From the images alone, it seems that Samsung will probably have a vertical camera arrangement compared to the horizontal one as seen on the Note 8. This proves to be an upside, as the fingerprint sensor will be easier to reach.

While this might make the S9's design a lot better, another phone leaker OnLeaks on Twitter, said that the CAD images circulating online are possibly fake. Alongside the supposed design, there are other rumors regarding the S9's features.

One such rumor is that it might not have a fingerprint sensor integrated on the screen, and that it might be powered by the newest Exynos 9810 system-on-chip and/or even the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip. It is also said to come in two display sizes: one is a 5.8 inch model called the S9 Mini, and a 6.2 inch model. The Galaxy S9 is also rumored to come with a 3D camera or sensor for better face recognition.

When it comes to the S9 Mini, it is said that while the size of the smartphone may be smaller, it also has curves around the edges of the phone. This stems from some leaked info from known Samsung leaker called Ice Universe, who shared a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, claiming that the tech company is working on such a model. However, Samsung is reportedly not certain on whether or not they will release this version.
