Although Samsung has just released its new Galaxy Tab A lineup, speculations suggest that there will be a new iteration in the series coming out soon, with an S Pen included.

According to SamMobile, it come as a surprise that the South Korea-based tech giant is including a stylus in the new Galaxy Tab A, given that the lineup was launched earlier this year as a mid-range series.

Previously, the S Pen accessory was limited to flagship products, and Samsung has just recently released a new S Pen as an add-on to its new Galaxy Note 7 flagship. This time though, Samsung is expanding its S Pen add-on to other lineups. The industry follower noted that the S Pen seen on the upcoming Galaxy Tab A is similar to the stylus included in the Galaxy Note 7, which means that even if the next Galaxy Tab A is a mid-range device, the stylus will still have flagship features like the Air Command menu, as well as support for the Samsung Notes app.

There already are supposed leaked images of the new Galaxy Tab A with S Pen feature, giving an impression that the new addition will be branded as a work-focused slate. Nonetheless, the new tablet still retains its mid-range lineup category, since the design and specs are much similar to the original Galaxy Tab A that Samsung launched in April. This means that the upcoming mid-range slate still has the same Exynos 7870 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM. There is also 16GB of onboard storage, which is expandable via microSD support. Other expected features include an 8-Mp rear camera, a 2MP selfie shooter, and 7,300 mAh battery. Given that the original Galaxy Tab A already has an Android Marshmallow update, it is expected that the new slate will come with Android 6.0.1 right out of the box.
