The stylishly slim Galaxy Tab S2, Samsung's newest line of tablet devices, was unveiled back in July, and gadget enthusiasts and consumers are now waiting to hear when it will actually come out in stores. Samsung earlier announced that it will be released in August but it did not push through. Instead, it is now set to be shipped to retailers beginning Sept. 11. 

Consumers can choose between the two Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet variants: the 8-inch variety or the bigger 9.7-inch model. These sizes are almost the same as Apple's iPad line. 

Compared to its predecessors, the new Samsung Galaxy S2 has an improved design to make it stand-out above the competitors. The South Korean electronics giant gave their latest slate a sturdy but chic plastic-wrapped body over a metal frame, which is available in white, black, and gold cases with leveled edges. 

Under the hood, the new Samsung flagship tablet comes with an octa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB and 64 GB of built-in storage options that can be expanded up to 128 GB using its microSD slot. It is also equipped with an 8-megapixel primary rear camera with 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera, and can also be connected using Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies and more. 

Both models of the latest Samsung slate comes with Super AMOLED displays with 2048 x 1536 QXGA resolution. Individually, the smaller 8-inch edition comes with a 320 ppi density, which is a little better compared to the 264 ppi density of the 9.7-inch variety. But unlike the previous tablet models, the screens of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 boasts 4:3 aspect ratio that is ideal for most tablet functions.  

While the earlier announcement claimed that the devices will be running with Android 5.0 Lollipop, some reports are still hoping that Samsung will update it with Android M, the latest version of the mobile operating system. 

The 8-inch variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is priced at $399 while the larger 9.7-inch model costs $499.
