Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 vs iPad Air 2: Which is thinner?

Is the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 thinner than this Galaxy Tab S?Samsung

Samsung seems to have a lot to offer this year. While the news about its new smartphone products are still rife, rumors about the development of its Galaxy Tab S successor has already started to circulate. According to reports, the company is currently working on the alleged Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 to continue the line of tablets that comes with Super AMOLED touchscreen display.

Early this week, SamMobile released several details regarding the alleged new tablet from the South Korean consumer and mobile product manufacturer. The website claimed that the new Galaxy Tab S2 will come with 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch variants. The first one is slightly smaller than the 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab S, while the other one is almost an inch smaller than its predecessor's 10.5-inch display model.

Also, SamMobile stated that the upcoming tablet device from Samsung will have a body thinner than Apple Inc.'s iPad Air 2, which happens to be the sleekest, thinnest slate from the Cupertino tech giant at the moment at only 6.1 mm.

Does it mean that Samsung will pit their newest device against the iPad Air 2?

There are also reports claiming that the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be released with a metal frame. This may not be a surprise, since there are speculations saying that the South Korean mobile and electronics brand is supposedly planning to release their newest flagship phone called the Galaxy S6 with a metal chassis. It means that the company is planning to work on a theme in its upcoming releases.

Samsung is also speculated to release its latest tablet line with a 4:3 screen ratio this year, which is also featured by the Apple company in its own tablet product.

If all these rumors are true, consumers should expect to see the product along with other Samsung devices sometime this year.
