With the annual IFA just weeks away, speculations suggest that tech giant Samsung is readying another round of new releases, including the next-gen Galaxy Tab S3 slate.

According to rumors, fans have been expecting the Galaxy Tab S3 to come out in the middle of the year. This is due to Samsung traditionally coming out with a tablet iteration in between the second and third quarters annually. The Tab S3's predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S2, was originally launched in July last year.

However, with Samsung focusing on another flagship release – the Galaxy Note 7 – the flagship slate's launch is reportedly re-scheduled. In addition, the current-gen Galaxy Tab S2 has just been refreshed, with Samsung coming out with a souped-up version earlier this year.

Speculations now suggest that a debut at the annual IFA trade show in Berlin is more likely.

What it is interesting to note is that even if the Galaxy Tab S3 is supposed to debut early next month, there are no hints on the new slate's details and specs. However, though Samsung has yet to come out with the specs sheet, the upcoming tablet is expected to carry major improvements over its predecessor, given that it is the flagship lineup for the Galaxy Tab series. Purported specs include an improved display – although having the same 4:3 aspect ratio – and at least Android 6.0.1 right out of the box. As for under the hood specs, the Galaxy Tab S3 will most likely carry a Snapdragon 652 chipset with at least 3GB of RAM.

With the supposed debut of the slate at the 2016 IFA, the trade is looking to be Samsung's showcase for its new mobility products. Aside from the Galaxy Tab S3, fans also expect the new wearable, the Samsung Gear S3, to make an appearance.
