The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was not launched at the IFA held last week, contrary to reports. But it is being reported that the tablet could still be released this month.

The predecessor of the device was revealed at last year's IFA, which made it more likely that the third iteration of the tablet will have the same venue for its unveiling.

This was clearly not the case as the event has come and gone, but the new Galaxy Tab remains unconfirmed as it was before. Last month, however, it was revealed through a post on the Colombian website of Samsung (which was quickly taken down) that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is indeed real.

The post suggested that the device will see the light of day in September. Fans can now rule out an IFA launch, but if the post on the website (as well as Samsung's quick action to remove it) is anything to go by, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 might indeed be revealed this month.

Interestingly, Andrew Martonik of Android Central revealed the reason the device's absence at IFA. "Samsung is happy with the Tab S2 apparently," he wrote.

"And sales of tablets can't be high enough to justify a new model," he went on to say. It is unclear what the company has planned for the tablet line, but this suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 might take a while to get here.

Samsung still currently supports the Tab S2. The South Korea-based tech giant will reportedly roll out the Android Marshmallow to the tablet along with other devices including the original Tab S.

Samsung is yet to make the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 official. However, if Martonik's statements are to be considered, the company won't upgrade it unless the sales call for it.

Despite this, there are still expectations that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will still see the light of day this month.
