The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are the most anticipated premium devices from Samsung in early 2018, although the South Korean tech firm could launch another impressive tech very soon. While Samsung has not yet mentioned about the successor of the Galaxy Tab S3, a recent benchmark listing suggests that the Galaxy Tab S4 is just around the corner, showing the high-end specs and features of the tablet upon its release.

It should be expected that Samsung would keep the details under wraps about their upcoming hardware, although a latest GFXBench listing has already spilled the features of a particular Samsung device with model number SM-T835. According to Tech Radar, the device in question is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, given that its model number follows that of the Galaxy Tab S3 with SM-T825. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, on the other hand, uses the model number SM-T815.

The benchmark listing for the suspected Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 reveals that the device will sport a 10.5-inch display with 1,600x2,560 screen resolution. Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S4 will have a 2.3 GHz octa-core Qualcomm chipset with an Adreno 540 graphics processing unit (GPU). Based on the recent devices using an Adreno 540 graphics card, it is likely that the octa-core Qualcomm processor is actually the Snapdragon 835.

Previous specs rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will be among the first hardware from the company to receive Qualcomm's latest high-end mobile chip, the Snapdragon 845. Per the GFXBench listing, however, the Galaxy Tab S4 could just stick with the one-year-old Snapdragon 835, which is used by most 2017 flagship handsets.

Meanwhile, the benchmark listing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 also shows 4 GB of random access memory (RAM), 64 GB built-in storage, 12 MP rear camera, and 7 MP front-facing camera. However, it is possible that the tablet will actually have an 8 MP selfie snapper, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. The Galaxy Tab S4 is expected to run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The listing does not mention about the new S Pen stylus that might come with the tablet.

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, the Galaxy Tab S4 is also expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona, Spain on Feb. 25. To note, the Galaxy Tab S3 was showcased almost a year ago at the same MWC stage.
