Samsung has been intriguing its loyal customers and mobile-savvy users around the world with its news a of a foldable screen for its Samsung Galaxy X. While previous news mention that they already have an actual phone for it and is still being kept exclusive, many now wonder when will it come out.

Many reports would tell eager fans that it should come out late this year, or at most, early 2019. Even with its quite close release, not much is known yet about what the Samsung Galaxy X foldable phone can do.

According to BGR, Samsung originally had their patent for the foldable phone back in 2015. It mentions that the foldable phone will be highly adaptive. Users can fold the phone to only reveal a part of the screen and will then use only partial light. It should fold like a phone and tell you when to do so.

Elsewhere, news are also coming out about LG's own foldable OLED phone. To be specific, it is actually more a smartphone-tablet hybrid, as per Know Your Mobile. As for now, it is still just a patent and does not necessarily mean that it is in already in production for its prototype.

Nevertheless, it is quite easy to assume that this is a direct competitor to Samsung's Galaxy X. If anything, if this does go past its concept stage, Samsung may as well be trying to speed things up to truly say they are pioneers for a new kind of smartphone, the foldable smartphones. At least as far as concept goes, LG only had this patent just a few months ago.

For now, these are all just news and most likely rumors for the most part. So, fans should stay tuned in the coming weeks for official news from Samsung and LG.
