The Samsung Gear S3 is poised to launch sometime this year, and according to a report from Wareable, it is speculated to be released in September and is rumored to come with a few new features while retaining some of the old ones that consumers appreciated the most about the Gear S2.

According to the report, it is likely the new smart watch will launch in Berlin this September during the IFA expo given that the Gear S2 launched during the same event in 2015. Samsung, like Apple and Google, develop and release their new devices on a regular basis and fans have come to expect repeating patterns over the years.

If the Gear S3 is not released in September during the IFA expo fans speculate it might be pushed back a little to release in late October. This is speculated to allow Samsung to shine the spotlight on their mobile devices like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and their tablet lineup.

Sam Mobile reports that images of the Gear S3 have been leaked online but the images are so over-exposed that there is the possibility of them being fake. It is visible, however, that the smart watch is going to retain its circular face, a metal bracelet and a fluted bezel which is stated to resemble watches from Rolex.

The words "Gear S3" can also be shown in the image although they may have been edited into the image as there is no verfication that these images are authentic.

According to the report, the Gear S3 is currently codenamed Solis, the Spanish word for "sun" and is going to run on Tizen instead of a simple front-loaded Android OS. The exact new features have yet to be revealed and these are all likely going to be showcased when the Gear S3 is officially launched to the public.
