The still-unannounced Samsung Gear S3 is one of the highly anticipated wearables expected to be released this year. There are rumors going around that it could finally be seen in the flesh by next month and loaded with features that could fully benefit outdoor junkies and health buffs.

The tech community is expecting that the device will be delivered by the South Korean tech giant during the IFA 2016 in Berlin in September. The electronic trade show was also the same venue that its predecessor was unveiled in, and there is a big probability that it could happen again this year.

With regards to the features, many enthusiast are speculating that the upcoming smartwatch will still contain 3G/4G connectivity, and may also trickle down to its entry level one. Joggers, walkers and those who prefer the outdoors would greatly benefit from this feature. Their very own Gear Fit 2 already contains this feature, so there is a big chance that it could happen.

Additionally, it could have also have built-in altimeter and barometer sensors, as well as a plotgraph of altitude against time. An indispensible tool when one is closer to nature, and their activities is driven by the weather.  A Gear S3 Frontier is speculated to be in development that will take on those Casio watches that are designed to survive the harshest climates and weather around the world, thus the name.

Samsung's Gear series wearable is known to use its very own Tizen watchOS, but it could also be released with an Android Wear 2.0. TechRadar mentioned that there is really no problem with Tizen, but there are Android fanatics that would love to have the same OS on their Samsung phone and the rumored Samsung Gear S3 watch. iOS fans would also be happy they could pair them up with their smartphones.

No leaks have been noted so far regarding the alleged smartwatch except for the Rolex-looking case with a metal strap, which could be a luxury edition. De Grisogono created one with the Gear S2, so this is not far-fetched, and it is already rumored that it is already in the works.

For those who prefer the classic and the basic model, nobody knows what it would look like except that it will be smilar with its predecessor -- still round, but with more options for its bands and colors.  It will also be faster and may arrive with more additional features.

For the meantime, fans can only wait if it will surface at the IFA Berlin 2016 happening on Sept. 2 to 7.
