Samsung Gear S3 release date rumors suggest September debut at IFA 2016; Device designed for active lifestyle

Samsung Gear S3's release date has not been officially announced or leaked just yet. However, rumors point that it's possible for the wearable device to be announced at the IFA 2016 in early September.

According to Tech Radar, the Gear S2 was teased back at the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ event, so it is still safe to assume that the company will possibly hold a pre-IFA conference in order to have the Gear S3 revealed. Regardless, fans are still expecting the S3 to come with an entry price of $300, if not lower.

In the same article, the S3 is also expected to be released in a few different variants, much like its predecessor. This includes a basic version that will have a sporty style, as well as a more svelte edition and pretty much like the classic version of the Samsung Gear S2. As of now, the second choice offers a more elegant steel build and leather band, but is currently rumored to be priced $50 more than the first one. However, fans are also curious if Samsung will introduce a third Gear S3 model, but it might be an overkill should it feature a different build style than the two aforementioned variants.

As for features, SamMobile says that it's possible for the Gear S3 to come with an integrated GPS, as well as a speedometer, a barometer, and an altimeter, which will cater to more active users. The altimeter and barometer will function as a means of measuring the altitude when used while the user is climbing. It also boasts a weather indicator which will help avoid untoward weather-related situations for users who like moving about.

Lastly, the Gospel Herald notes that the Gear S3 will most likely have a rotary bezel as well as a Tizen OS, the same as its predecessor.
