With the success of the 2014 Galaxy S5, fans were thinking if Samsung would likely come up with new and radical ideas for the next generation of its flagship lineup. Most likely, Samsung hardcore fans were not disappointed with the new S6 series. 

The new Samsung Galaxy S6 comes in two versions — what most say is the traditional successor to the Galaxy S5, and the more radical S6 Edge. In perspective, it seems both of them are the same. Displaying Super AMOLED screens at 5.1 inches, with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, both the S6 and S6 Edge deliver the company's crisp and vibrant colors. 

Inside the hood, both sport the Exynos 7 octa-core chipset with 3 GB of RAM. The two successors to the Galaxy S5 also have the same 16-megapixel main and 5-megapixel front cameras. 

There are subtle differences though, in these two current Samsung flagship products. In terms of size, the S6 is slightly longer and wider. It is also heavier than the S6 Edge at 138 grams. However, the Edge trumps the original S6 when it comes to battery capacity. This might be because of its unique, edged screen feature. 

The S6 Edge has a subtle curve on the right side of the screen, and with this curve comes some nifty tricks. The curved screen adds some functionality like information stream wherein data scrolls and can be easily seen, and night clock that shows the time on the curve. People edge can be activated by swiping from the top right side and it shows the most frequent list of contacts, while edge lighting is an option where contacts can be assigned a color, and the curve display lights up correspondingly when they call. 

Both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are now available globally, and can already be bought from major plan carriers.
