Samsung Galaxy 6: Galaxy S5 successor to launch March 1

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is becoming more tangible as its maker has sent out an invitation to the press for its "Unpacked" event to take place on March 1, a day ahead of the opening of this year's Mobile World Congress. Samsung's Unpacked event usually marks the unveiling of a new Galaxy S or a new Note. Many are confident that this year, Samsung will unveil the successor of the Galaxy S5, which has been the topic of rumor mills for quite some time now.

Stuff TV analyzed the Samsung invitation and claimed that the white streak at the center of its minimalist type card is the tech firm's way of saying that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will come curved, or at least its variant will. There have been insistent rumors pointing to the existence of the Samsung Galaxy Edge, which is said to be the S6 model that has both its rims slanted.

There have been many reports that indicate how powerful and distinct the Galaxy S6 will be. The forthcoming handset is made completely from scratch for Samsung to be able to craft the handset into something innovative and different. The phone will reportedly be caked with metal as opposed to Samsung's staple plastic casings. Furthermore, there are speculations that the handset is the first to ditch Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors. Instead of the new Snapdragon 810, which was recently plagued with alleged overheating issues, the Galaxy S6 is expected to pack a Samsung-made Exynos processor to prevent issues with their flagship and to make the first step in becoming a self-reliant tech firm.

The latest buzz about Samsung is that the tech firm plans to face up to the newly-released Apple Pay by launching a brand new mobile payment system of their own along with the S6, which is set to get the service first. According to GSM Arena, Samsung has forged a partnership with Visa for the new mobile payment system, which will use LoopPay technology that will allow users to pay at sale terminals using LoopPay-enabled cards. The system will work with a fingerprint sensor and a non-swipe one will be present in the Galaxy S6.
