The National Football League (NFL) team the San Francisco 49ers have drastically improved their performance when they acquired former New England Patriots backup quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo. The acquisition of Garoppolo has sparked an effective and hasty stride toward the rebuilding of the team. Although most sports analysts feel that Garoppolo's contributions to the 49ers mean a bright future for the team, some disagree.

As reported by ESPN, it was initially projected that the 49ers would need to take a few years of rebuilding with strategic draft picks, as well as trades, to create a title-contending team for the NFL. After acquiring Garoppolo, however, they have stated that acquiring Garoppolo "energized the franchise and expedited the rebuild." This means that the team can be expected to look into making several big moves in the off-season to build around Garoppolo.

The wins that the 49ers had nearing the end of the season, such as those against the New York Giants, and the season ending game with the Los Angeles Rams, have ignited newfound confidence within the whole franchise -- rejuvenating their drive and hope for the future seasons of the team. However, it is important to mention that the Rams rested their key players during their final season game against the 49ers.

Despite the decision of the Rams, Garoppolo was not fazed at all, and maintained that the team shoul play their hardest no matter who is put in front of them.

Garoppolo's impact on the team has been nothing short of stellar, despite the former New England Patriots quarterback starting for only four games during the season. In fact, the 49ers won every game wherein Garoppolo started as quarterback. In those four games, the 49ers faced some of the league's top contenders -- the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both of these teams are considered to be playoff-quality teams.

Rob Ninkovich, who was a former Patriots player, stated that he prefers Garoppolo to still be playing for his former team due to the fact that he is a great quarterback. This means that he was not in favor of the trade in the first place, and he even stated that Garoppolo is definitely a player that "you can build a franchise around." It appears that the 49ers are doing exactly that.
