San Francisco 49ers vs Detroit Lions live stream (Fox TV schedule): Watch NFL 2015 football online (Preview)

The San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions will face off on Sunday as the NFL 2015 regular season moves towards its conclusion next week. It has mostly been a season to forget for both of these teams, but with jobs on the line for many this upcoming offseason there is still plenty to play for among both rosters. The game has a scheduled start time of 1 p.m. ET and takes place from Ford Field in Detroit. The game can be watched on TV on the Fox network or online through live stream via the link below.

Both teams will miss out on the Playoffs for another season, however, the Detroit Lions will feel in a much better place than the 49ers at this point.

Detroit has played much better in the past month or so of the season, and there have been enough positives in recent weeks for fans to have hope that they are building towards something next season.

The 49ers though have been consistently terrible and there can be little to be optimistic about in San Francisco at this point.

The Lions will be trying to win their fifth game in their last seven games today, and if they can they will move to 6-9.

Matthew Stafford has been a big reason for their turnaround, and last week he put on one of his best performances of the season, going 22 of 25 for 254 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in their 35-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Earlier this week on Saturday night, the NFC East division was all but concluded, with the Washington Redskins defeating the Philadelphia Eagles to confirm themselves as division champions.

The Redskins clinched the division title, and with it a postseason spot, with a comfortable 38-24 win. Their appearance in the Playoffs this season will be their first since the 2012 season, and comes as a surprise as not many had predicted the Redskins would take the NFC East at the start of the season.

The result means the 8-7 Redskins will play a home Playoff game against the No. 5 seeded team in the NFC. At the moment that would mean a match up against the Seattle Seahawks, which would be a massive challenge as they have made huge strides in the second half of the season and at the moment look like one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

If the results in the coming few weeks shake things up more though, then the Redskins could get a game against the 9-5 Minnesota Vikings, which is another daunting prospect for Washington. However, at the moment the Redskins may just want to enjoy the fact that they're back in the postseason and whoever it turns out they face, what will be will be.

Kirk Cousins has been one of the core reasons the Redskins have managed to surprise people this season, and he has played above everyone's expectations. On Saturday night he completed 31 of 46 throws for 365 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.

At the start of the season, the Redskins suffered poor form through their opening six games. During that period, Kirk Cousins threw eight interceptions, where as in the nine games since he threw just three.

They will need the new improved Kirk Cousins if they are to make an impact in the Playoffs.
