Fighting Cancer With Corporate e-Cards

As the month of October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month - draws to an end, Cancer Research UK is continuing in its drive to raise funds for research:

"Overall long-term survival for women with breast cancer has improved dramatically over the last 10 years and we are seeing even better survival statistics for women in their fifties and sixties." said Professor Coleman, epidemiologist from Cancer Research UK.

Prof Coleman predicted that survival for younger women would also improve though a little less dramatically than in older age groups. Their campaign 'All Woman Together' hopes to have raised funds for this continued research and improving survival rate. Please visit www.cancerresearchuk.org/breastcancer for more information.

Meanwhile, Cancer Research UK is also urging businesses to use it's corporate e-card service this Christmas – a time-saving alternative to signing, sticking and posting all those traditional cards, which also raises vital funds for the charity's fight against cancer.

At www.corporatechristmascards.org companies can choose from an attractive selection of contemporary and traditional designs, some of which are animated. Cards can be tailored with corporate branding and messages, delivering a professional greeting to clients, employees and valued contacts.

Businesses are asked to make a donation to Cancer Research UK for the service and each e-card features a message acknowledging the sender's support for the charity's life-saving work.

The Consortium, an educational equipment supplier, used the site to send corporate Christmas e-cards last year. Marketing manager Jo Trigg says: "We thought this was a great idea – not having to buy, sign and send hundreds of cards was a real bonus, but most importantly we were issuing a suitably professional Christmas greeting out to all our clients. Everyone absolutely loved them, and we were delighted to be supporting Cancer Research UK at the same time."

This is the second year that Cancer Research UK has offered corporate Christmas e-cards – and it is anticipated that demand will be high following a successful launch of the service in 2004.
