Fans who have been excited to get their hands on "Scalebound" will have to wait just a bit longer for the eagerly anticipated title.

The game's developer, PlatinumGames, announced the news of "Scalebound" being pushed back on their official website. According to PlatinumGames, they have opted to move the game's launch to 2017 in order to "ensure that 'Scalebound' lives up to expectations."

The developer indicated that the additional time would be used to further hone the gameplay mechanics and to make sure that all of the features they plan to include will work as they are designed to.

Despite announcing that they are postponing release of the game to 2017, PlatinumGames assured fans that the development process is still going well and that they are pleased with how "Scalebound" is moving forward into completion.

The developer then hinted that they would be revealing more about "Scalebound" at some point later in 2016, although they did not indicate when exactly they would be doing so.

For folks who may not be too familiar with "Scalebound" as of yet, the upcoming game will be an action role-playing game (RPG) that puts players in control of Drew, a young man who possesses some interesting abilities, according to Games Radar+.

Along with Drew, players will also be heading into battle along with a dragon named Thuban, and one of "Scalebound's" main features even involves being able to take part in enemy encounters that will necessitate the participation of both.

Battles inside "Scalebound" are expected to feature a variety of elements, combining to hopefully make an experience that will be engaging and enjoyable for players.

"Scalebound" will also reportedly feature an online multiplayer mode upon being released.

As of now, fans looking forward to "Scalebound" will have to stay tuned to learn more about the upcoming action RPG.
