The finale of "Scandal" season 4 may just be the most explosive episode yet. While the series is notorious for taking unexpected directions and shocking twist and turns, the conclusion of the hit series' fourth run will leave fans frenzied, to say the least, and in great awe, just like how it left its cast members.

Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope in the series, revealed that she has no idea how the show will go on because the season 4 finale seemingly drops the bombshells from the show's arsenal. Her shock about the conclusion made her question writer Shonda Rhimes about what's next for her character.

"This finale episode, I mean, I just ... I turned to Shonda. I was like, 'Where do we go from here? Are you for real? Now what?' It's crazy," Washington narrated during the Directors Guild of America panel.

Many fans now believe that the show is once again at the dawn of another character's death. Basing on Washington's tense reaction, this person may be someone who will leave a major dent in the series. And after Derek Shepherd's death in Rhimes' other long-running TV series "Grey's Anatomy," fans have a reason to worry.

Bellamy Young, who plays First Lady Mellie Grant, has said it: "Shonda Rhimes has shown no mercy."

Fans may have been relieved seeing Jake survive a gruesome attack but it looks like it won't be long before another casualty emerges. After all, bad guy Rowan Pope will kill just about anyone just to teach his daughter Olivia a lesson.

Meanwhile, Katie Lowes, known as Lindsay Dwyer in the show, revealed that viewers will be "blown away" by the finale. On the other hand, Darby Stanchfield, who plays Abby Whelan, told Variety that "the structure of everything explodes," teasing fans that she might have meant that literally.

The B613 issue is at the boiling point and the finale of season 4 will wrap things up for viewers.

"You'll definitely get your answers: if it can be done, if it can't be done. What does that involve, do people die, do people live, how does that affect the President?" Lowes said.

"Everything comes to a head in the shocking season finale when Olivia and the team finally make some big moves to take down Command, and Mellie's fate is sealed as the election results are announced," reads the synopsis of the season finale.

The concluding episode of "Scandal" season 4 titled "You Can't Take Command" is set to air on May 14.
