Olivia realizes what's she's done in "Scandal" season 5, episode 18.ABC

Olivia will face the ramifications of her shocking actions in "Scandal" season 5, episode 18, titled "Till Death Do Us Part." Before the show went on a hiatus, ABC made sure fans will have two weeks' worth of debates and discussions during the lull.

Recovering from his stroke caused by Huck, U.S. Vice President Andrew Nichols was ready to disclose how he plotted Olivia's abduction in the previous season of "Scandal" to wage war with Fitz, who has been visiting him in the hospital.

Abby, who was initially under the impression that the president got his girlfriend pregnant (this is how she explains the hospital visits), convinces Nichols to release statements that are detrimental to Mellie's presidency instead.

Nichols's revelation in the "Scandal" season 5 episode would have put all of them in danger, especially Fitz, so she did her best to stop the vice president from putting everyone's life and reputation on the line.

Abby's meddling enrages Olivia, and with horrible memories of her kidnapping flooding back in, a furious Liv confronts Nichols, slams his head to the floor and beats him to death. She goes on to warn Abby not to mess with her again.

In "Scandal" season 5, episode 18, Olivia will learn the cost of her deadly outburst and will suffer every bit of it. It is only this time that her actions will sink in on her. She stops going to work and stays in bed the whole day, but Rowan assures Fitz "she'll be okay."

The "Scandal" season 5 promo shows Liv also drinking the pain away with Jake by her side to check on her. Unfortunately, she gets intoxicated and tries to convince Jake that he does not really love his fiancée Vanessa.

One thing led to another and they end up sleeping together. Olivia then wakes up to the news that Jake's wedding was moved to an earlier date, which seems to have puzzled her.

The synopsis for "Scandal" season 5, episode 18 hints that Olivia will learn what Rowan and Jake have been planning. It seems to have something to do with this and Liv makes a "gut-wrenching attempt" to stop them.

The "Scandal" season 5 episode also promises to shed light on how Jake first got involved with Rowan's deadly organization B6-13.

"Scandal" season 5, episode 18 "Till Death Do Us Part" airs April 21 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
