'Scandal season' 5 spoilers: love, divorce and plenty of Fitz-Liv moments in latest trailer

It seems like Olivia and Fitz may finally be together. At least that's what the steamy trailer for "Scandal" season 5 suggests. The show knows that fans have waited "long enough," so it seems like those who want the two to be together are about to see what they have hoped to see.

The 30-second clip starts off with the couple sharing an intimate moment, but the mood quickly shifts with the promise of "twisty, crazy goodness" coming fans' way.

Quick captures of a crying Huck, Cyrus looking stressed, and Mellie about to break down are shown. The trailer also offers a glimpse of the president and his lady love making a toast from far away. By the end of the trailer, things seem to go horribly for Mellie when Fitz tells her he wants a divorce.

Fitz is so sure and adamant about it that it feels like it is more of an order that Mellie is left with no other choice but to agree. While this would potentially complete the head of state's plan to finally be together with Olivia, it wouldn't be that easy.

Media outlets expect that Mellie would not be kicked out without a fight and "Scandal" season 5 may see her thirsty for revenge and determined take what she thinks is rightfully hers. Add to that the possibility of Huck going bad this season.

When the previous season of "Scandal" ended, Olivia and her team finally put her father Rowan, the leader of the organization B613, behind bars. Many agents were killed and injured before this feat was realized but there's still this fear that papa Pope may rise to power again.

If that happens, Olivia and Fitz will have a lot of things to deal with as they fight for their love. But for now, fans would want to savor the couple's reunion, which doesn't happen often. Whether or not this will once again be fleeting will be revealed when "Scandal" season 5 airs Sept. 24.
