Aside from being the man in charge of the whole United States — in "Scandal," that is — Tony Goldwyn will also take on another role in the new season of the series. The actor recently confirmed via Instagram that he will direct the second episode of "Scandal" season 5.

"Okay, first day directing 502. Got to get up," he said in a sleepy voice in a short video he posted on his Instagram account.

The clip shows the actor still lying in bed, looking half-asleep. He then captioned the post: "Looks bad if the director's late, even if he's the president."

Notably, this isn't the first time Goldwyn takes part on and off camera for "Scandal." This will be the actor's fourth time in the course of the series so he's pretty much used to being the head of state, Olivia's man, and the director all at the same time.

Just recently, a montage of Olivia and Fitz's moments was shown via a video that serves as a teaser for season 5. For the moment, fans undoubtedly feel that the couple will get their happy ending even in the midst of the chaos and tribulations. However, despite the love they share, it might not be enough to make the problems around them just fade away. Temporarily maybe, but not permanently.

According to reports, Mellie will be back to mess things up with another political plan in place. Also, there are speculations that Papa Pope won't spend a long time in jail and might terrorize Olivia and the gladiators once more. This time, he may even team up with Huck, who was chewed out of the team.

There are so many factors that just won't let Fitz and Liv be happy together, but if the teaser is any indication, it looks like they will get a chance to try in "Scandal" season 5, which airs Sept. 24.
