Mellie (Bellamy Young) is out for revenge in the upcoming episode of the hit ABC series "Scandal."

In "Rasputin," it is payback time for the former First Lady. After conspiring with Olivia (Kerry Washington) in getting Rowan (Joe Morton) out of prison, Mellie is thinking of blackmailing her. In the promo released by the network, she can be seen threatening Liv that she will tell Fitz what the two of them have done. To prevent the President from being impeached, Liv was prepared to kiss the devil. What she has put in motion was her last resort, and now, she is facing the consequence of her action.

Mellie appears to have wasted no time divulging their little secret to her former husband. The teaser shows Liv in confinement, as if awaiting her fate. Fitz is standing over her and with a stern expression, asking her to tell him that what he learned was not true. Is this the end of their relationship? Liv knows that once Fitz learns of the truth, they are done.

In the past few episodes, the judiciary committee was intent on proving Fitz unfit to head the country due to his illicit affair. The only option for him and Liv was to get married, which she was not prepared to do. Liv has realized that they would only be making the situation worse if the newly divorced President weds his mistress. That was why she asked Rowan to get the board to drop the case in exchange for his freedom from jail.

Meanwhile, the synopsis reveals that Liv will meet someone who will divulge information of political value. According to Cartermatt, an unexpected guest from the White House will pay her a visit, but the fixer is said to be considering whether or not to trust the information the source carries. Meanwhile, Fitz will be busy closing a peace deal of historic importance. Cyrus (Jeff Perry) will find himself disconnected from "the inner circle" and will decide to deal with the situation on his own.

"Scandal" season 5 episode 8 will air on Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
