The second half of "Scandal" season 5 won't air until next month, but there are already spoilers about the show circulating online.

The last time fans saw Olivia (Kerry Washington), she finally is living in the White House with the love of her life, and the President Fitzgerald "Fitz" (Tony Goldwyn). But later on, Olivia realized that she's just not cut out for a First Lady role; it's not the kind of life she wanted and she just had to break it off with Fitz.

When the show returns, fans should expect a long time jump, precisely six months, according to Goldwyn, who told Entertainment Weekly. Goldwyn went on to say that the time jump is important to show fans how characters have moved on with their lives.

Unfortunately for the actor's character, Fitz will be alone since he already lost his wife Mellie (Bellamy Young) to divorce, and his mistress Olivia, who walked out on him.

That means Fitz will have nothing except his work and he needs to focus on being a good leader to America. According to Goldwyn, the president will be engrossed and "obsessed" with his work as a result of his loneliness. But he will still try hard to function well as Olivia will keep troubling his mind.

Apparently, Fitz still loves Olivia, as Goldwyn shared. If Fitz finds out that Olivia aborted their child, he would lose it, but would still forgive her because of his great love for her.

Washington, on the other hand, also shared that when the show returns, her character will be a different person.

As for Mellie, she will continue her big ambition to be the next president of the United States. Since Fitz's term is almost over, it is expected that the former First Lady will be launching her presidential campaign when the series returns.

It's going to be an exciting return for "Scandal" season 5, which will premiere on Feb. 11, Thursday, at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
