The mid-season comeback of "Scandal" season 7 did not turn out well for the Gladiators in Suits. The previous episode of ABC's political drama thriller featured the gruesome fate of Quinn (Katie Lowes), much to the disbelief of the viewers. Nevertheless, many fans of the character are not sold to the idea that they have seen the last of Quinn in the controversial final season, given that the episode 9 preview hints that she is still alive.

A character meeting a sudden tragic fate is not uncommon in a Shonda Rimes TV series, although a supposedly dead person making a surprising return is not unexpected either. According to rumors, "Scandal" season 7 could eventually reveal that Quinn is still around somewhere, in spite of the last episode showing Eli Pope (Joe Morton) shooting her body and burning her inside the car trunk. It should be noted that the episode did not show the appearance of whoever was placed inside the trunk. In episode 9, the viewers could see Quinn alive and well, but the mystery behind her supposed fake death could also be explained.

If Quinn is still alive, there is a huge conspiracy going on in "Scandal" season 7, given that the Attorney-General, David Rosen (Joshua Malina), confirmed that the burned corpse found inside the car trunk belongs to Quinn. The only evidence are the matched blood and hair samples from the crime scene. Of course, there are a lot of ways to manipulate the test results.

It is speculated that Eli, also known as Rowan, is just hiding Quinn from other Gladiators, including Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) who seems to be fully convinced by the information given to her. It would not be surprising if Eli is just holding Quinn as captive to use her gladiator skills for his own benefit. No one has an idea yet on what Eli is up to this time around, but it appears to be a serious matter for him to stage a grand charade.

"Scandal" season 7 episode 9 will air on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
