Scottish rugby star launches charity teambuilding programme

Scottish rugby star Kenny Milne launched a brand new teambuilding programme last Wednesday run by Edinburgh-based charity The Edinburgh Cyrenians.

Major companies including HBOS attended the event which will see the charity collaborate with The Training Tree Company to provide commercial team building programmes to the staff of Scottish companies in the unique environment of The Edinburgh Cyrenians organic farm in Livingston, West Lothian.

The farm provides a supportive environment for socially excluded young people and provides a platform for work experience.

The programme offers team building training and profiling which will allow company staff to develop relationships with their colleagues on a more personal and understanding basis.

The programme is based around activities such as designing and planting orchards, diversity hedgerows, planning and building poly tunnels, planting nest boxes and even catching chickens!!

The young people living on the farm will help in the facilitation of the team building programmes by acting as a host to the teams and by giving them the opportunity to build their confidence and to interact with young people.

Des Ryan, Director of The Edinburgh Cyrenians explained "Our partnership with the Training Tree will create lots of opportunity for us to help homeless youngsters to get back on their feet and make progress in their lives."

Annette Hetherington, from HBOS, says "We are looking forward to growing and developing our relationship with Edinburgh Cyrenians."
