One of the original cast members of "Scream Queens" will not return for season 2.

Actor Diego Boneta has announced that he will not appear in the sophomore installment of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's horror-comedy anthology.

"It was honestly such an amazing platform for me and such a great experience that it gave me these movies I'm working on right now," the actor told WetPaint. "So, unfortunately I won't be going back for the second season because of that."

Boneta portrayed the role of Pete Martinez, one of the Red Devil killers in season 1. The character was killed off in the first season finale.

The actor is currently working with "Avatar" actor Sam Worthington and "Orange Is the New Black" star Taylor Schilling for the upcoming sci-fi thriller "The Titan."

But while Boneta confirmed his departure from the show, comedienne Niecy Nash announced that she will return in the star studded cast of "Scream Queens" season 2.

By the end of season 1, Nash's character Denise Hemphill made it out alive from the killing spree within the Wallace University campus. From then on, the funny but clueless cop was promoted to FBI agent. This means that Denise will have more hilarious scenes in the upcoming season.

Nash will join other remaining cast members, who include Jamie Lee Curtis who will once again portray the role of Dean Munsch, Emma Roberts as the ruthless sorority leader Chanel Oberlin, Lea Michele as the sorority misfit turned killer named Hester, Billie Lourd as Chanel #3, Abigail Breslin as Chanel #5, and Glen Powell as Chad Radwell.

FOX executive Gary Newman announced the second season return of "Scream Queens" in January, saying that the show is "going to take place in a hospital and explore some of the most interesting medical fascinomas," a report from WetPaint stated.

At the moment, FOX has yet to announce the official premiere date of "Scream Queens" season 2.
