'Scream Queens' season 3 release date, spoilers: Chanel gets a new love interest

 Fox

"Scream Queens" season 1 ended with Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts) found guilty and sentenced to an asylum for life. As stated in a report from Variety, this is where the majority of season 2 will take place, even with the returning cast and new faces coming into the show.

However, given that Chanel will no longer be in her comfort zone and with the Red Devil still out there, it is expected that she will undergo significant changes. As stated by Roberts in an interview with Us Magazine, she will look significantly different and maybe even deranged.

"It's based in a mental hospital so I doubt Chanel is looking as 'Chanel' as we remember her on the finale," Roberts explained. "I don't know what the transformation's going to be but I'm sure the show runners will have something up their sleeve."

According to Yibada, Oberlin will also be getting a new love interest in the second season and it may be one of the doctors at the mental institute. However, the identity of this new possible partner has not yet been officially revealed, and it may be featured when the second season premieres its first teaser trailer.

If this proves true many fans speculate that this will be the key for Chanel to break out of the asylum before the end of the second season.

However, there is still the news that Hester (Lea Michele) may deal with her toying with Chanel's mind while she is still in the asylum. It is also speculated by some fans that Chanel might be safer while she is in the asylum, away from the dangers that Hester may pose.

"Scream Queens" season 2 has no official release date as of the time of writing, but it is expected to premiere by late September given that this was the same release period for season 1.
