Scripture Union Launches 'Count Me In' Website

Scripture Union recently launched the Count Me In website to keep Christians up-to-date on the latest volunteering tips and techniques, providing case studies that show the life-transforming experience of taking part in events.

The current holidays and missions programme reaches more than ten thousand children and young people every year, Scripture Union said.

Simon Barker, Scripture Union's Volunteer Events Manager, is hoping the website will lead to more people getting on board: "We want everyone to have some fun with the website, but we also want it to get more people volunteering." Barker, who is currently in the top 20 of the game's high score list.

"More volunteers means more events and more events mean more children and young people getting to hear the gospel. And ultimately, that's what we all really want."

Every year 4,000 people have "the time of their lives" as volunteers, according to Scripture Union estimates.

Volunteers can choose from a wide range of opportunities to serve, including residential holidays, missions, tailor-made work placements, and overseas stints.
