The pirate-simulator action-adventure game "Sea of Thieves" just came out with its closed beta a few days ago. While some gameplay videos of it from people who got to play the beta can be seen on YouTube, there are a few features that have yet to be explored. It did not take much to find them as a simple search around its files already shows some clues.

These features were first found by a Reddit user who shared his findings on a post. One of which is ship customization. After all, every pirate, and thus player, have their own preferences. and it did not really make sense for the closed beta to miss out on a ship customization feature.

The name of some of the game files imply that players will be able to customize the cannons, the capstan, livery, the mast, and the captain's wheel. There is a file for a harpoon gun as well, and it will most likely be used for hunting or possibly hooking in other enemy ships.

Another interesting find comes in the form of a Kraken. As also seen in some of the game's trailers, there are actually Krakens as enemies on the player's journey. This also is not just a few files as the long list of files actually reveal what it can do. The files' names imply that the fearsome enemy can swallow players and later spit them out. Of course, there is also a file for when the player also gets thrown into the water.

Speaking of which, gameplay videos will show players that there are mermaids that will escort them back to the ship if they get thrown out into the water. While this gesture seems like they are allies, they are also apparently listed as enemies alongside the Kraken and the skeletons.

"Sea of Thieves" is set to release exactly on March 20, 2018. Those with the closed beta will be happy to know that the beta has been extended for two more days following server issues with the game.
