Upcoming action-adventure video game "Sea of Thieves" is still closed to the public. While many fans could catch a good glimpse of the game on YouTube, it still is definitely a different experience to be trying out the game itself. Looks like it would not be long until then as datamined reports note that there is an open beta coming soon before its official release.

With every new update comes with new files to datamine. That is exactly what Reddit user vJoeyz did for the last two updates. While the previous update did contain some additions made including ones that were soon to be featured, it did not contain much of a hint for any event before the game's release.

The latest update suggests otherwise. There are not many details about the files themselves but their file names refer to an open beta and an "Order of Souls" quests. While this is not much, at least fans know that there indeed will be an open beta. News of it should come soon as the release date is coming up as well.

Aside from these references to an open beta, there are actually a lot of new items, features and visual effects added on to the game. Pirate customizations will include eye color, eyebrows, facial hair, face color and a few more others. There are more files on the Kraken's interaction with the player's ship.

The Kraken would also be having a sort of poison as well. Two new items have been added: Admiral-styled and BileRat-styled PocketWatch and spyglass. Two Legendary Tavern NPC models have also been spotted. Generally, there is just a lot of new game files to be added to the game.

If anything, this all the more points to the possibility of an open beta. With more players coming in, it does not seem surprising for them to add all the stuff the game needs before then. As for its official release, "Sea of Thieves" is due out on March 20, 2018.
