Popular pirate-simulator game "Sea of Thieves" has just ended its final beta. While the game is getting its release next week, developer Rare has decided to keep the game's hype alive with a real-life quest. The prize will surprisingly and appropriately be literally golden bananas that are worth £80,000.

The news of the competition was first brought up during the premiere episode of Inside Xbox. Players and just anyone interested to win the golden bananas will have to solve several riddles and crack clues to find where, as they say, X marks the spot. Note that only people from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France and Germany are eligible to join.

It does not take much to join. The riddles will be revealed online and so the answers too will be inputted via the Xbox website for the game. Those who want to try it out can place their answers by Mar. 21, 2018, 7 p.m. EST. From then, players will only have seven hours to place their answers to every riddle.

The first riddle will be revealed on Mar. 19, 2018 at 3 a.m. EST. The next riddles will be revealed every three to four hours. Players do not necessarily have to be in teams to try solving the riddles. Of course, however, two or more heads are always better than one. At least if players get to solve it alone, they also get the £80,000 solo.

There is always the possibility that multiple teams or players will get the answers right. That said, only the fastest team or player will get the grand prize. Those who follow after would not be left empty-handed. They would get a limited edition of "Sea of Thieves" golden doubloons worth £300 each.

As for the game itself, "Sea of Thieves" will be out on Mar. 20, 2018. The game will be playable on the Xbox One and Windows PC.
