After seven seasons, Richard Sherman's time with the Seattle Seahawks may finally come to an end. The latest NFL trade rumors claim that the team is looking to cut the cornerback, who already thinks he will not be returning in 2018.

Sources told NFL that Sherman has started to say goodbye to his teammates in the last 24 hours. One of those who received a message from the football star appears to be fellow Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane, who sent out a cryptic tweet referring to No. 25 (Sherman) on Wednesday.

"That text message got my heart hurting ... damn 25 was my Dawg #WhatsNext," Lane posted. Teammate Kam Chancellor also shared a tweet of his own which can be seen below:

Although the Seahawks have not made an official announcement yet, the same publication said that Sherman already met with coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider on Wednesday to figure out his future with the team. Not much has been said about it, but considering Sherman is still recovering from an injury, things are not looking too promising.

At this point, Seahawks can release him, put him on the trade block, or keep him but with a pay cut. If they are not able to trade Sherman, though, or if the cornerback disagrees with their new terms, the team plans to release him in two days' time.

"They're doing that because they feel so highly about him and what he's meant to the organization," NFL Network's Michael Silver Silver reported on NFL Total Access. "They want to give him a jump on free agency. I'm told that if the market is not great, they are open to bringing him back at a lower salary. They haven't closed the door on Richard Sherman returning, but I do think it's unlikely."

Sherman is due $11 million in 2018. Assuming his trade rumors are true, it signals the biggest move yet in Seattle's offseason overhaul.
