It has been a busy year for Selena Gomez. The singer-actress started off the year by filming two movies, "The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving" and "In Dubious Battle," and she has even recorded a new album. But while the star is focused on her career, fans and the media continue to speculate on her relationship with on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber.

In a new interview, Gomez talked about being friends with her ex, as well as the moment when she finally decided to let go of all the drama that surrounded her relationship with the singer.

Gomez and Bieber dated for four years before their final breakup last December, and speaking to Elle magazine, the 23-year-old celebrity said that she is still friends with the "Baby" singer.

When asked if she and Bieber would ever get back together, the "I Want You to Know" singer laughed and said, "I don't know." 

The star said that although they're not together anymore, she'll always support him in his endeavors.

"I'll forever support him and love him in a way that … We grew up together," she said, adding that she respects him and that Bieber respects her as well. 

The star also talked about her appearance at the American Music Awards last November, where she sang "The Heart Wants What It Wants." Gomez's performance made headlines as she cried onstage, and she told Elle that at the time, she was "exhausted" because all everyone wanted to talk about was her relationship with Bieber. 

"I want this [performance] to be the last time I have to talk about this. And acknowledge this feeling," she said. Gomez said that she cleared her dressing room moments before going onstage and told herself, "This is all I have right now. This is gonna be it. And all I want is to move on." 

Since then, Gomez has moved on and even dated DJ Zedd earlier this year. The singer also confirmed that she is dating again, but stressed that finding a man is not her main focus right now.
