Very little news concerning "Sense8" has been announced by Netflix, and because of this, rumors of its cancellation have begun to spread around the internet like wildfire. However, new production photos are being released, showcasing that these rumors are untrue and that season 2 is well underway.

Just one week ago, the official "Sense8" Instagram page had uploaded several new images, one of which includes producer and co-creator Lana Wachowski. The week before, a photo was released showcasing the season filming while on location in Chicago.

Ecumenical News points out that even older photos uploaded from a month ago showcase that much of season 2 has already been done as the crew and cast have already completed filming in Brazil, where it is rumored to feature several key LGBT elements into the show.

Rumors of cancellation have become rampant due to the lack of official updates or marketing material such as trailers or promotional images. However, given that the series is still filming, these will not be launched until early 2017 when the second is nearing its premiere.

One actor that is rumored to not return for the season is Aml Ameen. According to FX News Call, he was fired from the show due to creative differences with Lana Wachowski. This confrontation allegedly became a direct verbal confrontation following a table read of the script.

Ameen, who played Capheus "Van Dame" Onyango, is still rumored to be coming back, although his role has since been recast to be played by Toby Onwumere. According to the report, it is possible Ameen will play a different character and the story to explain the differences that may have something to do with mind and body swapping.

Neither Netflix nor Ameen has made any comment regarding a possible return, and as it stands, he will no longer be a part of "Sense8" season 2.

"Sense8" season 2 premieres in 2017.
