Those who bought their PlayStation Vita units before June 2012 in the United States can now have free cash, credits, or games. 

In November 2014, a host of lawyers and gamers filed a class action lawsuit over what complainants deemed as false advertising of the PlayStation Vita. Specifically, the suit claims that Sony falsely advertised the different features of the handheld device, namely the remote play, cross platform, and cross save features of the system. One advertisement even falsely claimed 3G-network enabled PS Vitas supporting online multiplayer gaming in real time. The class action suit was initiated by the Federal Trade Commission. 

However, even though Sony already settled the issue, the company notes that it "neither admits nor denies liability in connection with this matter. What's more, by accepting any of the offers, you are waiving your right to a future settlement." The full terms of the settlement offer are available online.

There are three available options for claimants of the settlement: a $25 check; a $25 credit in the PlayStation Store; or one of three listed PS3 and Vita game packs.

For those who wish to pick up a game, the available packs include:

• A family-friendly title bundle, with "LittleBigPlanet 2" for the PS3, "Puppeteer" for the PS3, and "Uncharted: Golden Abyss" and "ModNation Racers: Road Trip" for the PS Vita. 
• There is also the action and adventure bundle, with the "God of War Collection," "Beyond: Two Souls," "Twisted Metal" for the PS3, and "Unit 13" for Vita. 
• The last pack is composed of varied titles, with the "God of War Collection" for the PS3, "LittleBigPlanet" also for the PS3, and the "ModNation Racers: Road Trip" and "Unit 13" for the Vita.

For the check and the credit, claimants must go to the official claiming website and complete the online forms before June 29.
