Anime fans in the United States are most likely already deep into the story of the manga turned anime television series, "Seven Deadly Sins," following Netflix's acquisition of the show's English streaming rights. As of the moment, the English version of the anime is currently in its first season, but fans who have already seen the Japanese version are now wondering about what will be transpiring in the show's upcoming new season.

"Seven Deadly Sins" season 2 has already been green-lit and is most likely already in production. According to reports, Kodansha will be officially announcing the good news during the release of the latest chapter in the manga — chapter 192 — which is coming out this week on Sept. 21. Kodansha has been serializing the manga series on its Weekly Shonen Magazine since October 2012.

Reports have also speculated that the upcoming new season will most likely still retain the same voice actors as the first season. This will include Yuuki Kaji as the show's main protagonist Meliodas and Mamoru Miyano as the Holy Knight Gilthunder.

The first season's finale episode — which is currently not yet available in full English dub — ended with the epic conclusion of the battle between the Sins and the former Great Holy Knight of Liones Kingdom, Hendrickson. Meliodas and the rest of the sins somehow managed to defeat Hendrickson even after he had transformed into his final Demon form after drinking some gray demon blood.

The finale episode ended with the Sins and Elizabeth moving on to their next adventure in search of their former comrades. The upcoming new season is expected to showcase more details about Meliodas' past and his connection to the demons.

There is currently no set release date yet for the upcoming new season, so fans would just have to wait for an official announcement regarding its release.
