Seven most anticipated movies in 2018

Movie goers are excited about a lot of movie releases in 2018. Here is a list of some of the most anticipated films that are set to come out in the coming year. 

Marvel concluded 2017 with "Thor: Ragnarok," but the entertainment company teased fans with the first official trailer for its upcoming "Deadpool" sequel. The official title of the movie has yet to be announced, but the trailer has ignited excitement among fans from all over the world. The movie is set the premiere on June 1, 2018.

DC also has a movie lined up for 2018. The solo movie for the DC superhero "Aquaman" is set to be released on Dec. 21, 2018. "Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa will reprise his role in the upcoming superhero film alongside other talented stars like Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, and more.

Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming adventure film "Tomb Raider" is also one of the most awaited releases next year. Swedish actress Alicia Vikander will portray the iconic role. The movie will hit theaters on March 16, 2018.

The biblical drama film "Mary Magdalene" also created a stir after Universal Pictures dropped its trailer in November. The movie centers on the life of Mary Magdalene as a follower and believer of Jesus Christ. The cast of the movie includes Academy Awards nominees Rooney Mara, Joaquin Phoenix, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Fans of the Harry Potter franchise are also excited to see the sequel to the "Fantastic Beasts" saga next year. "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" is a star-studded film that is set to be released on the United States on Nov. 16, 2018. Eddie Redmayne will reprise his role as Newt Scamander alongside Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Katherine Waterston, Zoe Kravitz, Ezra Miller, and more.

On March 23, 2018, the dystopian stop-motion adventure film "Isle of Dogs" will hit theaters. The movie will feature the voices of Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Bob Balaban, and Jeff Goldblum. The film's plot revolves around five dogs looking to escape a quarantined island for canine due to a flu.

Academy Awards winner Sandra Bullock will join force with some of the most recognized female stars for the upcoming heist film "Ocean's 8." As a holiday treat, Warner Bros. Pictures released the trailer for the upcoming film days before Christmas. The trailer featured big names like Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, and more. The movie sports the tag line "Every Con has its Pros."
