Shadow of Mordor tips: Eat plans, get runes and don't aim for the orc's head

The wait was completed. The only thing needed to do is to finish the game.Wikipedia

Shadow of Mordor is now being played by thousands and the only thing they want to get closer to is conquering the game. Not many have bested the game's rough challenges but the few who managed to do so are ready to divulge the best tips and practices to end the struggle.

iDigitalTimes was generous enough to share, in complete detail, their techniques in completing the game. The site kicked it off with a trick to gain points from the map other than restoring the Forge Towers (which is effective in itself too).

"Cutting down on some of the extra running that can follow a mid-mission death – and also gives players a chance to familiarize themselves with the map," the site explained.

iDigital Times also stressed the importance of runes (and getting a high level of them) in finishing the game.

"I think it's important to remind readers that following through on your threats of violence will increase your likelihood of finding an epic rune by forty percent," it remarked.

"Granted, you'll probably still need to take down a high-ranking captain to guarantee an appearance from one of the game's golden runes," the site explained.

The site also emphasized the importance of eating herbs players come across. They will serve as Talion's cure to his injuries, which of course, is vital to continue on with the mission.

Rabbit's Respawn also has tricks of his own, this time to pull off an infinite combo streak. He explained that with an Epic Sword rune Tower of Defense, a player's streak reset timer will get a 10 seconds increase. It proved to be an effective way to get ahead of the game when Rabbit himself used the tip making an impressive 413 combo, as shown in a Youtube video he posted.

Kotaku on the other hand addressed gamer concerns regarding the orcs, and have attempted to provide answers on how gamers can kill them off for good (or at least figure out if they will spring back to life). Orcs are bound to cheat death even after getting decapitated (which Monolith suggested to be the best way to get rid of them). This means that orcs are extremely tough to whisk away.

Kotaku stated: "Go into the game's nemesis board after defeating an orc and see what their slot looks like in the aftermath of the fight. If the relevant orc is just lying there, there's a good chance he's not dead yet. If there's a little pile of skull and bones, on the other hand, you can rest assured that the guy's not coming back."

Kotaku has attempted a couple of times to slay orcs and surprisingly, it is not the head that players should focus on to beat orcs. Watch how it all happened here:

Shadow of Mordor can be played on a Xbox One, PC, and a PS4. The game will be available to play in Xbox One and PS3 on Nov. 18 (U.S.) and Nov. 21 (Europe).
