In the next episode of "Shameless," Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy) gets called to go to his son Liam's (Brenden Sims) school to explain why he is failing his exams.

The trailers and promotional photos for the upcoming installment titled "The (Mis)Education of Liam Fergus Beircheart Gallagher" was just released recently and showed Frank walking up to Liam's teacher Anne Seery (Jennifer Taylor) who hands him a flunking test paper. "Liam failed his exam today. He only got two out of ten questions correct," Seery says to Frank who cannot believe his son's performance. Liam contests that he did not understand the questions. Frank takes a look at the test questions and is surprised by them. "Jennifer blanked the glue and finished her project," he says questioningly. The choices in place of the blanked word were "applied," 'kicked," or "sliced." Apparently, Liam wrote the answer "sniffed" on his test paper.

"Technically it works," Frank says with experience from being a former drug addict. He takes a look at another question and reads, "The front door is to the foyer, as the back door is to." He starts getting frustrated knowing that Liam comes from a different background and does not understand what a foyer is. "This is cultural bias! You put [Liam's] face on the brochure but you ignore his background," he says angrily. It remains to be seen what Seery will do about Liam's test scores.

In the last episode, Frank wanted to get more involved in Liam's school's activities. He attended a parent-teacher meeting and decided to join the carwash fundraiser to help the school. He ended up getting the admiration of some of the mothers because of his dedication to his son's upbringing.

"Shameless" season 8 episode 5 will hit the airwaves on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 10 p.m. EST on the Showtime network.
