'Shazam' news: Zachary Levi wants Billy Batson and Wonder Woman to share a scene

If Zachary Levi could get any DC character to cameo in his upcoming film "Shazam!', he would like it to be Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. Not only is she arguably the cinematic universe's biggest star right now, the actor also thinks Billy Batson's adolescent awkwardness mixed with Diana Prince's regality would make for an amusing encounter.

"Wonder Woman, because she's awesome," he told Entertainment Tonight. "I think getting a cameo from anybody would be super cool, but I just think Gal Gadot is so effervescent."

Levi explains that Gadot has a charm and thinks she is cool for being a mom and having worked at the Israeli Army. "And I'm like, 'You seem like you're grounded and cool, and you're Wonder Woman, and you rock," he continued. "And I think it would be really funny to have the 14-year-old Billy Batson inside of Shazam that's really awkward around this beautiful Amazonian. I just think that would be really awesome."

It has been rumored previously that another superhero could show up in "Shazam!," but it was not Diana Prince. Per Screen Rant, Henry Cavill's Superman was tipped to be the potential mentor for the new superhero. Still, with the powerful impact of "Wonder Woman," it is not impossible for the film to squeeze in a cameo. After all, she has been a longtime ally of Shazam in the comics, and while fans should not expect them to spend as much time together in the cinematic universe, it would still be a great treat to see them interact in the DCEU.

Of course, this is not Levi's decision to make so fans should not get their hopes up just yet. Either way, there will not be less of Gadot in the future films. She is already lined up for "Wonder Woman 2," which is said to be another prequel as well as "Flashpoint." As for "Shazam!," plot details are currently scarce, but with the film gearing up for production, new details will hopefully be available soon.

Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film is the second DC film to premiere following "Aquaman." It centers on the young Billy Batson who becomes an adult superhero by saying the word "Shazam." Starring Asher Angel as the former character and Levi as his grown-up alter-ego, it premieres on April 5, 2019.
