Sherlock season 4: Watch special episode 'The Abominable Bride' tonight online (Spoilers)

A Sherlock Holiday Special episode will be airing on PBS and BBC One tonight January 1, 2016, and this New Year's Day special extended feature has been titled "The Abominable Bride." The Sherlock special episode has a start time of 9 p.m. ET on PBS (and 9 p.m. GMT on BBC One), and can be watched online through live stream via the link below.

Tonight's Sherlock special episode will see the return of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in another spectacular re-telling of one of Arthur Conan Doyle's classic stories.

The episode will be set in Victorian London in the 1890s and will see Sherlock and Watson joined by Mary Morstan, Inspector Lestrade and Mrs Hudson at 221B Baker Street.

A lot of work has gone into Sherlock: The Abominable Bride and the special 90 minute episode will also be released into select theaters across the United States on January 5 and 6 with screenings taking place at 7.30 p.m. local times.

It has been rumored that the special theater screenings will allow Sherlock fans the chance to see 20 minutes of exclusive additional footage, which will include a guided set tour of 221B Baker Street

The official synopsis for "Sherlock: The Abominable Bride" states: "In 1895 London, Holmes and Watson tackle a ghostly case: the apparition of a woman who committed suicide seems to be on a revenge-inspired rampage. It's a Victorian-themed episode, the title of which is based on the quote ("Ricoletti of the club foot and his abominable wife") from "The Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual", which refers to a case mentioned by Sherlock Holmes."

The 90-minute holiday special episode, titled "Sherlock: The Abominable Bride" will be aired on PBS on Friday, 1 January, 2016 at 9 pm and can be watched online by clicking here.
