Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock Holmes is back, but not yet for the three-episode season 4, but a one-off Christmas special. And John Watson, Martin Freeman, has something nice to say about the said episode.

BBC's "Sherlock" is making a comeback with its 2015 Christmas special, "The Abominable Bride," even though it is airing on the first day of 2016.

Aside from deviating from 2013's Christmas special, the new special episode also has a nice new treat for fans: Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and John Watson (Martin Freeman) are going back to their "original" era, the Victorian era.

The special, titled "The Abominable Bride" (with newcomer Natasha O'Keefe playing the bride), is apparently based on a quote from the Sherlock case "The Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual." According to Radio Times, creator Mark Gatiss (who also guest stars at times as Sherlock's brother Mycroft) said at a London Comic-Con that the title is a throwaway to a quote from the story, "Here's the record of the Tarleton murders and the case of Vamberry, the wine merchant, and the adventure of the old Russian woman, and the singular affair of the aluminium crutch, as well as a full account of Ricoletti of the club foot and his abominable wife."

While the quote does not say much about what viewers can expect in the said special, they can at least expect a fun episode. Freeman hints at that possibility in an interview with BANG Showbiz, as quoted by Mirror. He described shooting "The Abominable Bride" as really good fun. He also likened it to being on vacation.

"It was very nice. It kind of felt like a holiday, like mufti day at school or something," the 44-year old actor said.
