The cast and crew of "Sherlock" have completed the filming of season 4. And if the reports are to be believed, they are done with the whole show as well.

As per the rumor mills, the show starring Benedict Cumberbatch will no longer return for another season. While there is no confirmation about that yet, fans can bet "Sherlock" season 4 will do the show justice.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast via Mirror UK, creator and executive producer Matt Gatiss had nothing but good things to say about the upcoming season.

"We're very excited about it. I think it's the best one we've done, it's very big chewy stuff, meaty," he said, although making sure not to completely spill the beans on "Sherlock" season 4.

"Lots of big life changing things happen in it and all kinds of non-specific things like that I can say about it," he went on to say.

Gatiss, who also reprises his role as Mycroft Holmes in the new season, said that "Sherlock" season 4 will premiere "beginning of next year when it usually is."

Gatiss' co-executive producer and creator Steven Moffat recently hinted in an interview with The Telegraph that the show will end after this upcoming season due to Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman (who plays John Watson) busy with many projects.

"We do have two film stars in the program. They haven't needed to do these jobs for a very long time. They're coming back because they want to," he said.

"I don't know how long we can keep it going. I'm personally willing, but I'm hardly the main draw. I would be moderately surprised if this was the last time we ever made this show," he went on to say.

It is believed that James Moriarty (Andrew Scott) will make his grand return in "Sherlock" season 4, catching Sherlock off guard. His comeback was suggested in the trailer for the new season.

In the second season, Moriarty killed himself, or appeared to have done so, but it looks like he himself is taking a page from his rival's book and faked his death.
