'Shin Megami Tensei V' to be released in 2018 exclusively for Nintendo Switch

The newest role-playing video game "Shin Megami Tensei V" will be released in 2018. A collaboration between Nintendo and Atlus made the fifth installment to the "Shin Megami Tensie" ("SMT") video game franchise possible.

According to NintendoLife, the game will be exclusive for Nintendo Switch. Gamers can enjoy the full gameplay and storyline of the video through their televisions instead of a TableTop Switch.

According to a leak released by Ryokutya2089, the production of the game still has a long way to go in order to fully maximize Atlus's plans for the game.

There is no information about the characters to appear in the game and storyline. Siliconera also released an article enumerating details about the game that were mentioned during a Famitsu interview with "Shin Megami Tensei V's" game producer, Kazuyuki Yamai.

One of the biggest revelations is the inspiration behind the game. Yamai explained "Shin Megami Tensei V" will tackle the "characteristics of time." The game will tell stories about people being unemployed, down on their luck, terrorism, domestic problems, and real-life crisis that are rampant these days. "Shin Megami Tensei V" wants to replicate real-life ordeals and see how young people adapt to certain issues.

Fans are puzzled on how the game will be able to pack all of these elements into one installment. The launch trailer of the game revealed new monsters and a destroyed city. Several forums on Reddit suggest that the game will have two main characters dealing with new set of demons.

The most recent spin-off video game of the "SMT," "Persona 5," was a huge success for Atlus and there are questions if the world of "Persona 5" will somehow be connected to "Shin Megami Tensie V."

"Persona 5" received a 9.7 out of 10 score from IGN and 93% rating from Metacritic.
