Fans waiting for the ported version of "The Sims 4" may have to wait for a while. The lack of announcement from EA, the game publisher, puts doubts on the Xbox and PlayStation 4 version. However, while the console version is being worked on, PC players of the highly successful life simulation video game have just received the latest update from its developers, Maxis and The Sims Studio, which contains gender customization options

Numerous reports have mentioned that the ported version of "The Sims 4" is having a big technical issue, which is the main reason why it has not arrived on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The companies involved are not saying anything about it either. There are already rumors going around the community that the fourth game of the series may be the first one not to arrive on the consoles, which is a little bit hard to take for many serious fans of the franchise, Crossmap reported.

The report mentioned that it is also speculated that there could possibly be a fifth version of the game, and may surprise fans at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, which is set to happen next week. "The Sims 4" is about to turn two years old in September and there is a possibility that the developer is prepping up a new game.

Going back to "The Sims 4," last June 2, Maxis, rolled out gender customization option to the game. This means that players can customize their Sims any way they want, regardless of the character's gender. All the accessories are available for the different genders as well.

The announcement stated, "For the first time, you'll be able to customize your Sims without the gender boundaries previously set in place. This means you can now create Sims with any type of physique, walk style, and tone of voice you choose – regardless of their gender."

It added, "We've also made clothing, hair, jewelry, and other visual options available to all Sims. Over 700 pieces of content previously only available to either male or female Sims, have now been made available to all Sims regardless of initial gender selection. This includes content from The Sims 4 base game and previously launched packs."

The latest update is also in preparation for the latest gamepack, "Dine Out," which is available now.
