The season 6 premiere of "Sister Wives" saw the end of Kody Brown's marriage to Meri, and the beginning of his marriage to Robyn.

The episode picked up where it left off last season, with Meri agreeing to sign divorce papers so that Kody can adopt Robyn's children from her previous relationship. During the season 5 finale, it was revealed that although Kody is in a polygamous relationship with Meri, Janelle, Robyn, and Christine, the law does not allow him to be married to more than one woman.

Meri, seeing that there's no other way to go about it, decided to make the ultimate sacrifice by divorcing her husband, but Kody assured her that the divorce is just on paper, and as far as they are concerned, nothing has changed in their marriage.

At first, Meri said that she didn't want to know all about Robyn and Kody's wedding details, and Kody wasn't happy about this because he felt that all of the women should be there at the civil ceremony. But after Meri got an email informing her that her marriage to Cody has been dissolved, she changed her mind and decided that she wanted to be part of the wedding after all.

However, Kody also decided that he didn't want Meri or the others at the ceremony because he didn't want to make a fuss about it since this had to be done just for the sake of Robyn's children. In the end, Kody got his way and was married to Robyn in a low-key civil ceremony, without the presence of other family members.

Next week, Meri gets emotional when she tries to explain to the children about how Kody is now married to Robyn and not to her. Meanwhile, Kody is seriously considering adopting Robyn's children from her previous relationship, but he wonders how Meri will react. Viewers will also get to know more about Janelle and how she was introduced to polygamy, and her struggle to lose weight.

"Sister Wives" airs Sundays at 9/8c on TLC.
