Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) and Ezra (James McDaniel) will find solace from each other as they both try to cope with Abbie's (Nicole Beharie) sacrifice in the upcoming episodes of the FOX series "Sleepy Hollow."

When the Anubis energy threatened to consume Jenny, her sister reacted by using the shard to suck it all from her. Unfortunately, it could not handle the awesome power of the Anubis and it posed a grave danger not only to them and Ichabod (Tom Mison), but also the entire town of Sleepy Hollow. Abbie then made the ultimate sacrifice by bringing the orb with her through the portal in the trunk of Pandora's (Shannyn Sossamon) tree of darkness. The last thing viewers saw was the orb exploding just right after Abbie disappeared in the tree opening.

As Jenn tries to cope with the loss of her sister, she will find comfort from the person who can understand what she has been going through the most. Their father Ezra will also feel the pain as one of her two children is missing and presumed dead. Showrunner Clifton Campbell told TV Line that this "emotional equilibrium" among the characters would be the central storyline for season 3B. He also said that while it was previously announced that McDaniels' character would only be seen for one episode, they were pleased that he would be around "for a little more than that."

"Once we're all in the same place emotionally with these characters, it's utterly and completely critical that the characters reach out to each other for support. Jenny in particular, in her loss, has to reach out to her father, and she does," he said.

Meanwhile, Design & Trend has listed several reasons to prove that Abbie is not dead. According to the website, the fact that she is one of the two witnesses makes it difficult for FOX to kill her off. The plot of the series will simply not allow it. Also, Abbie still has that love story brewing with Ichabod. If she has truly died, why would the showrunners spend a lot of effort promoting about it? It may also be noted that when Campbell was asked point blank if Abbie was dead, he refused to give a straight answer but instead wove a tale about how viewers should have noticed the clues about "the tree, the lair and the story" they have been telling in the first half of the season.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 3 will return on Friday, Feb. 5, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
