Smach Zero, otherwise known as the handheld version of the Steam Machine, will be coming out next year.

To be more precise, the Smach Zero will be coming out in the fourth quarter of 2016.

For those who may not be familiar with the Smach Zero, this is the same portable device that was initially known as the Steamboy.

The Smach Zero will actually go on sale starting Nov. 10 despite the fact that it is not scheduled to be released until next year. For Steam fans who already want to stake their claim, they can start saving up the $299 they will need for the Smach Zero once it is available for pre-order, according to Engadget.

The Smach Zero will be in the following of other notable handheld gaming systems such as the PS Vita and the Nintendo 3DS, but it is significantly different in certain areas.

For starters, the Smach Zero will apparently have an expansive game library, one that provides players with access to over 1,000 different titles. Other handhelds have struggled to amass such a massive game library, and that could prove to be one of the major selling points for the Smach Zero.

As for the handheld itself, it is not unlike many of the other mobile gaming consoles already out in the market. It will have a button layout that is familiar to anyone who has tried handheld gaming and it will also come with touch pads and a control stick, according to Polygon.

The Smach Zero will have an input scheme similar to the newest edition of the Steam controller, so the feeling out process for gamers trying it out will likely not be too long.

The handheld will also have features that are found in other mobile gaming consoles such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to facilitate possible online play.
