Snapchat updatee: Brand Stories marketing platform redeveloped

Facebook

After Snapchat featured a new app update wherein the friendship status between users can be seen via a designated emoji, the popular photo messaging app now pulled out its Brand Stories service to re-develop their ad platform.

There have been reports claiming that the advertisement platform was pulled out because it failed to generate a strong interest from its target audience, but a company spokesperson clarified that it was pulled out so that it can be re-developed to give the best experience for all the Snapchat users.

However, the company exec did not provide more information about the possible changes that Snapchat will develop for their new ad platform service. It could be an in-depth revision or it could only have minimal improvements in its aesthetics.

The Snapchat Brand Stories platform was introduced in October last year. It works by letting companies publish contents and stories to users who are not even following them. Snapchat is expected to relaunch a new marketing platform in the near future.

Meanwhile, last week's Snapchat update received mixed reviews from its users. The reported emoji update removed the "best friends" list and swapped it with a brand new system that shows the relationship between the users. But unlike the best friends list that can be seen by the public, the new emoji list becomes private.

The new friends list system reminds users to reconnect with those who they have not "snapped" with for a while, and shows who among their friends have "snapped" them the most. These interactions will be matched by a specific emoji. This update angered some of its younger users, since it can be used to show the interaction between users.

Some of the most common emojis featured in the update include a gold heart that will appear if the person that the user is snapping with is their best friend, a grimace to show that the other one is the best friend of their best friend, among others.
